The application process is simple and focuses on your opportunity and team. The focus of the application form is providing information to help the BHP Xplor team better understand your opportunity/project.

  • What will I need to complete my application?
  • Can I save my progress and return later?

    Yes, you can save a draft application at any stage. Just remember to submit before the application closing date — Wednesday, 15 October, 5:00 pm AWST (5:00 am EST).

Process

The BHP Xplor team reviews every application that is submitted by the deadline on 5pm AWST 15th October. Selected applicants will be invited to virtual technical discussions, followed by in-person interviews.

  • What is the application review process and timeline?

    Applications to be part of the 2026 cohort are open from 9:00 am (AWST) Monday, 8 September 2025 and will close at 5:00 pm (AWST) Wednesday, 15 October 2025. The BHP Xplor program has a rigorous selection process commencing with a first stage of screening. Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to join a virtual technical discussion. After technical discussions, the next stage is in-person interviews, which will take place in-person in Toronto in mid November. In-person interviews provide an opportunity for applicants to speak to the technical credentials of their concept, share relevant supporting information with the selection panel, and meet the BHP Xplor team.
